I could not get into Invisible Man at all. I need to catch up with my B2C challenge... I have reviewed one book, but I need to either review the book I read for the translation category or find something else! Well's in particular. Not just for his science fiction writing, but the way he can build up an atmosphere within his stories. The sense of insignificance the Time Traveler feels (both as an individual and part of the human race) when confronted with the true magnitude of time and the universe during the time travel scene creates an almost visceral reaction, for me at least, and will stick with me a long time.Joshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02071412452483035780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8027299943447728658.post-54685976775377811332020-02-17T14:11:07.247-05:002020-02-17T14:11:07.247-05:00Interesting that you ended up liking this. That said, your review is making me think I should give it a chance. BTW, I think I saw that Big Bang episode :)JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8027299943447728658.post-3117352062709249102020-02-07T13:10:46.078-05:002020-02-07T13:10:46.078-05:00I've never seen any movie adaptation or read t...I've never seen any movie adaptation or read the book. But I did see that episode of the Big Bang Theory! :D Like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, I know the story more or less by osmosis. But I would like to read it someday. I saw the film as a kid, too, and I loved it. I was disappointed that the book was a lot different. (I really didn't care for the recent film edition.) The author's views on the environment were certainly interesting, but it made me think that the environment has probably always been an issue. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but I ended up liking it anyway.
