If you think Oliver is sickeningly sweet, you're gonna hate Little Nell :)

That said, OT is still one of my favorite books, and Sykes is truly malevolent. I think in Nancy, Dickens has a rare portrait of a complex woman. He usually portrays women pretty one-dimensionally, but Nancy is interesting because she's got more than one side.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8027299943447728658.post-47293243171222832492010-02-28T08:54:59.144-05:002010-02-28T08:54:59.144-05:00I'm really glad you did! Maybe you should join Our Mutual Read, you could read both Dickens and Sarah Waters.Karen K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13483190930383406559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8027299943447728658.post-24157451556574979872010-02-28T00:57:25.549-05:002010-02-28T00:57:25.549-05:00I was so surprised to find I liked Great Expectati...I was so surprised to find I liked Great Expectations.
