Challenge Link-Up Post: Classic By An Author That's New To You

Please link your reviews for your Classic By An Author That's New To You here.  This is only for the Classic By An Author That's New To You category.  This should be a classic by an author you've never read before (it doesn't necessarily have to be an author you'd never heard of.)

If you do not have a blog, or somewhere public on the internet where you post book reviews, please write your mini-review/thoughts in the comments section.  If you like, you can include the name of your blog and/or the title of the book in your link, like this: "Karen K. @ Books and Chocolate (Crime and Punishment)."

  1. This 1915 book is well regarded as a modern novel. I found the narration to be confusing, but I think that was deliberate, meaning that the narrator wanted to confuse us.

  2. I am so glad I gave Wilkie Collins a try - loved The Woman in White.

  3. I switched which books I was done for the categories so please delete my view of War of the Worlds (which actually ended up in there twice for some reason) but keep my review of The Picture of Dorian Gray (the last one I entered). Thanks! :)

  4. Just posted my review of Uncle Silas. I was expecting something like The Woman In White, but it didn't quite live up to that. But it was quite fun to read!

  5. I read my first Emile Zola for this challenge, Therese Raquin. I think I'm hooked, looking forward to exploring more of his works.

  6. Oops, I posted twice for A Streetcar Named Desire. You could delete #22. I can't figure out how to delete it.

  7. I switched which books I was doing again... ignore my first one (Picture of Dorian Gray) and keep the second one (War of the Worlds). Thank you so much and sorry.

  10. I swapped my categories for two of the books in my list, so I'm using The Warden for my 19th Century slot.
