I hope you're visiting Venice on your trip to Italy. It's such a magical place. On our last trip, my husband and I spent a week there. So much to see and so mysterious. I'm excited for you!
Venice, Rome, Tuscany, Florence - Italy! I am planning a trip for this fall, so hopefully you'll post some travelogues and let us know how the trip went.
Which bit? I have only been in Rome - I would love to see something outside the city. I am jealous but discovered that it would have been hard to travel with children there - at least the bits I saw in Rome. I have to wait until my kids are on their own to visit Venice - small kids + water = disaster.
I just found your blog somehow – I think it is the name that stopped me – books and chocolate – my two favorite things. I have been reading since I was a wee child and cannot think of a life without books – dark chocolate is a close second. Looking at the books you showed I think you are going to Italy. I used to speak fluent Italian when I went there on holidays for the month of August – but that was a long time ago (English is my 3rd language.) Venice is still nice but so many tourists … the same with Florence in a way, but still so wonderful. Ho un buon viaggio!
I, Claudius!!! Well, don't eat any figs off the tree. That's how Agustus's wife poisons him, you know. Painting poison on the figs hanging on his favorite tree.
You've an excellent reading list, BTW. Taking any of those on the trip with you?
Have a wonderful trip. I've never been to Italy (well I did go to a village near the french border for a few days) and I dream of doing it one day soon. I will be keen to hear about your experiences, highs and lows. And is it how it's described in the books?
Italia! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, can it be....Italy?
ReplyDeleteOooooh! Lovely -- and a great place for a book lover to go!

ReplyDeleteItaly in general or the specific spots in those books? Florence, Venice, Rome(?), and somewhere on the Riviera?
ReplyDeleteItaly!!!! It's so gorgeous! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful trip! I think Italy would be gorgeous this time of year, the weather's warming up but the crowds have yet to arrive. :)
