Challenge Link-Up Post: Classic By a Woman Author
Please link your reviews for your Classic by a Woman here. This is only for the Classic by a Woman category. If you do not have a blog, or somewhere public on the internet where you post book reviews, please write your mini-review/thoughts in the comments section. If you like, you can include the name of your blog and/or the title of the book in your link, like this: "Karen K. @ Books and Chocolate (Jane Eyre)."
I originally planned to read Pride and Prejudice, but switched to Jane Eyre since it was chosen for the Guardian reading group. Great book! Made me want to read Wide Sargasso Sea and re-visit Wuthering Heights.
Ended up reading An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving by Louisa May Alcott instead of The Good Earth because I plan to participate in a book discussion of The Good Earth next year!
I went back and read a second book by a woman author because I wasn't sure my first one would qualify for the challenge as it was a short story. This time I read Frankenstein, the 1818 version and really enjoyed it!
Enjoyed Emily Dickinsons' poems but not reading the entire collection in one go.

ReplyDelete"Frankenstein" was a fun read -- I'm annoyed that I put it off for so long!
ReplyDeleteNothing like the Anne books, but I loved The Blue Castle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, just linked - a Dorothy Sayers mystery.
ReplyDeleteLinked to my review of Doris Lessing's The Grass is Singing.
ReplyDeleteSeriously loving Agatha Christie! Hoping to read more of her books soon!
