Challenge Link-Up Post: Final Wrap-Up
Have you finished the Back to the Classics Challenge? Congratulations! This is where you'll link up to your Challenge Wrap-Up Post, after you've completed a minimum of six different categories from the original challenge post. This post is only for Challenge-Wrap Up Posts. If you do not have a blog, or anywhere you post publicly, please write up your post-challenge thoughts/suggestions/etc in the comments section. Please read the directions carefully. By linking or commenting here, you are declaring that you have completed the challenge; that each book (or play) reviewed fits the correct definition of the category, and was published before 1965 (except for posthumous publications); and that your reviews for each category are linked to the correct post. If I cannot find links to your reviews, I cannot give you credit and thus enter you into the drawing. THIS is where I will look at the end of the year and randomly choose the winner for the bookish prize. Please remember to indicate within THIS post how many entries you have earned for the prize drawing and include links to your reviews. If you do NOT include links to your original reviews IN THIS POST, I CANNOT ENTER YOU INTO THE DRAWING.
If you've completed six categories and you get one entry.
Complete nine categories, and you get two entries.
Complete all twelve categories, and your name is entered into the drawing three times!
Thank you again for participating, and congratulations again for completing the challenge!
Wait, I'm confused...this post says 2015, but you're talking about finished challenges. Is it for the 2014 challenge after all? Or is it just waiting here for us to finish and then post whenever, as each person crosses the finish line?
It's waiting for you when you've finished the 2015 challenge. After you've finished reading as many books as you want for the challenge (at least six), you'll add a link to your wrap-up post which includes links back to all your posts for the challenge. I've added all the links on the right side column of the blog, underneath the button which links back to the original post where you sign up.
Sorry if this was confusing! I'll try to clarify this in the post.
YES! I'm working on my post right now, and I just have to make the button! I'll be posting something in the next couple of weeks. We're definitely on for next year!
And congratulations on finishing the challenge! I still have to read my Classic Play.
So glad to see you're hosting again next year. I think I remember reading somewhere you were thinking of a re-read category; I hope you include that because I very much want to re-read To Kill a Mockingbird before reading Go Set a Watchman. BTW, I'm hoping Go Set a Watchman will count too, since it was written over 50 years ago, even though it was just published. Of course, I guess according to the rules for this year, it wouldn't count since it wasn't published posthumously; Harper Lee is still living. I guess I'll need clarification when I choose my titles for next year.
I'm so glad you put up a reminder post. I had finishes my 12th a while back but didn't realize we were supposed to do a wrap up or link it here. Mine shares a post with my last book, hope that's okay. I really enjoyed the challenge this year and hope to participate again in 2016!
I finished 8 books! That's less than normal for me, but pregnancy is more exhausting than I was expecting! I read some great books this year. Thanks for hosting!
I added my wrap up post too. It was so rewarding to read along with other friends who participated. Like Carol, I'm looking forward to the 2016 edition, I have read the categories and they are delicious. :)
My wrap up link doesn't work anymore. I changed to wordpress and my blogger address is hacked. This is my new wrap up post for this year, https://silviacachia.wordpress.com/2015/12/08/back-to-the-classics-2015-completed/
I am so excited that I was able to finish 9 of the 12 categories! Thanks so much for hosting this. It was a ton of fun and I'm excited to try again in 2016 :)
Yesterday I finished my twelfth book. What a journey it has been reading books of different genres, many of which I had owned for years but kept putting off reading. I had to make some changes from my original list because of availability of the material. Couldn't find "Clochemerle" so I read "Three in a Boat". I am not sure if I linked correctly as I went along so I re-did several today. My reviews are on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/38248002-pat?shelf=classic-challenge-2015. Thank you for hosting this. This reading experience has moved me, educated me, entertained me and broadened my reading world. What Challenge next ? May be this? Looking for ideas.
Congratulations! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the books in this challenge. I actually read Clochemerle a couple of years ago, I think I had to get it via Interlibrary Loan. I enjoyed it but not nearly as much as Three Men in a Boat which is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks again for participating in the challenge -- and if you're interested, sign-ups are available for the 2016 challenge.
I just linked my wrap up posting--I did 10 categories, but only posted about 9 of the works I read. Always a fun challenge--thanks for hosting again in 2016.
I just posted my wrap up of the 12 books I read this year. It has been a wonderful year with such great books. Thanks for hosting this challenge and I plan to participate in the 2016 challenge as well!
