I read And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. Does this count?
ReplyDeleteAs long as it was published by 1965, and there's a detective in the story, it counts!
DeleteI read Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. Hope I did this right!
ReplyDeleteYes! And I highly recommend the original 1974 movie version of the book -- so much better than the BBC adaptation of a few years ago.
DeleteI read the Leavenworth Case by Anna Katharine Green after Wikipedia told me it was an "influential novel." Very disappointed, but at least I can take bitter comfort in warning others against the same fate.
ReplyDeleteI read Patricia Wentworth as my detective novel because I had never heard of her. This book was entertaining to read. At first I thought it was simple and dated but I eventually got drawn into its convoluted relationships. It made me want to read at least one more in the series to get to know Maud Silver better. I can't imagine reading all 32 but will certainly pick up any I see while I am working at the library book sale this weekend because a Wentworth mystery is the perfect read for the BART train into San Francisco.
ReplyDeleteI just posted my review of The Franchise Affair by Josephine Tey.
ReplyDeletePosted my review of A Mind to Murder by P.D. James :)
ReplyDeleteI read The Innocence of Father Brown...but it's one I will have to revisit another time. I linked my thoughts.

Just linked to my review of 'Cover Her Face' by P.D. James.
ReplyDeleteI read Murder on the Orient Express. Definitely a fun book.
ReplyDeleteAnd Then There Were None - a super fast, fun and intriguing mystery!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend The Woman in White as a ripping good read!
ReplyDeleteLoved "Murder on the Orient Express"! Excited to read more of Agatha Christie's work!
ReplyDeleteI intended to read The Thin Man by Hammett for this category. I tried to read it I should say. Oh my the writing was terrible. I don't think I have time to finish every category so I dropped this one so I can read something well written instead. :(
ReplyDeleteJust finished a very unusual detective novel - The Man Who was Thursday: A Nightmare by G.K. Chesterton. http://100greatestnovelsofalltimequest.blogspot.com/2016/12/the-man-who-was-thursday-nightmare-by.html
