ReplyDeleteI read "The Seven Dials Mystery", an early work by Agatha Christie. It's sort of a cross between P. G. Wodehouse and Miss Marple. A bit odd, but enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteThe Crime at Black Dudley is the first Margery Allingham book I have read. I was expecting Albert Campion to be the protagonist and while he isn't you can see why he became the main character of the series because there are so many secrets about him to uncover.

ReplyDeleteI read Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Such a well-written account of the truly horrifying mass murder of an entire family in 1959.

ReplyDeleteI thought Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde would be a good pick for someone new to the classics. But I felt I knew to much about it before I read it to be able to fully appreciate its full impact at the time.
