Another fun read/listen for this one! I chose Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, and it was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI read Uncle Tom's Cabin, the best-selling novel of the 19th Century. Definitely worth reading.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall for Women's History Month!
ReplyDeleteAt least it shouldn't have to move again now haha!
ReplyDeleteI read Anne Bronte's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and loved it. It definitely deserves its reputation as one of the earliest feminist classics.
ReplyDeleteI finally read Flatland after hearing it mentioned in The Orville 2(?) years ago! It was honestly kind of boring, but at least it was short. :-)
ReplyDeleteAdding another Dickens to the list. My review of: Nicholas Nickleby
ReplyDeleteI have a deep affection for Australia which I have visited several times and this has made me very interested in the early days of the colonization of the country, in the lives of the people who, whether or by choice or not, built what it is now for good or ill. This books is not only revealing of its recent history but is an excellent adventure story and a rollicking good read.
ReplyDeleteI read The Time Machine and felt guilty counting it because it was so short. So then I also read the Island of Doctor Moreau and liked it better. I found the writing style more intriguing and the subtle(?) statements the author made.
ReplyDeleteJust finished Phineas Finn, leaving me with just 2 categories left to complete. I've already read A Christmas Carol, for the adaptation one, and I think I will skip the Abandoned category, as the only thing that fits the bill is The Italian, and I am just so not in the mood to try to finish that book!
